ABOUT OUR SCHOOL
Welcome
I am delighted to introduce you to Garden Fields JMI School. This website has been prepared to provide parents and interested parties with an overview of information about Garden Fields’ organisation, curriculum and other statutory documents. It also will give you an insight into our ethos and values that flow throughout our school community.
At our school, we aim to develop our children not just academically, but also socially and morally. We provide a high level of pastoral care and a wide variety of enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities which run in conjunction with our stimulating and exciting curriculum.
Garden Fields is now a two-form entry school just north of the city centre. Dating back to 1896 and our old home in Catherine Street, we are one of the oldest schools in St Albans. In the 1970’s we moved to our existing school site, with its fabulous grounds and teaching spaces which include: a large school field, a forest school area, outdoor theatre, library and five playgrounds. Additionally, we have our own breakfast and after school club, ‘The Hub’, which operates onsite.
The school is proud to be part of Alban Academies Trust (AAT), for more information about the Trust please visit albanacademiestrust.org.uk.
Should you have any further queries or to book a visit to the school, please telephone or email the school office.
I would encourage you to explore the website further to gain a better understanding about life at Garden Fields and the many opportunities that our school offers its children.
Paul Sutton, Headteacher
