Jewellery, Long Hair and General Appearance

Your child will not be allowed to wear jewellery to school (except for stud type ‘sleeper’ earrings or certain religious items). Jewellery is a safety hazard in PE and finding mislaid items can cause considerable loss of teacher time and be distressing to your child. Children will be required to remove or tape over “sleeper” earrings for PE sessions in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.

Likewise long hair should be tied back securely and the general appearance of your child should be in keeping with the ethos of the school. Inappropriate appearance could result in your child being sent home.

Analogue or digital watches may be worn by junior children to aid their learning to tell the time. These are worn at the owner’s risk of loss or damage. Devices that allow the user, for example, to take pictures, video, play games and send/receive messages are not permitted

Sunscreen

As a school we expect parents to apply sunscreen to their child before school. This should be effective for the school day. We do not have sunscreen in school to apply during the day except where a child has a medical condition. We also ask that children do not have sunscreen in their bags. Children attending the Hub are likely to require a second application at 3:15pm – please speak with the Hub team regarding arrangements for this.
