See the Spring/Summer menu HERE.

SCHOOL LUNCHES

School lunches are cooked on our premises by our caterers Culinera.

These are offered on a 3 week menu cycle. Parents pre-order their child’s meal through the SchoolGateway. Please contract the school office if you are having difficulty logging in.

Cost:

Meals are free for children in Reception, Years 1 & 2. They cost £2.88 per day for children in Years 3, 4, 5 & 6.

Packed Lunch:

Children may alternatively bring a healthy packed lunch. Please ensure packed lunches DO NOT contain peanut butter sandwiches or nuts of any kind as we have children in the school with severe allergies to these foods. Fizzy drinks, sweets and chocolates are also not allowed.

Allergies

Culinera already cater for children with a number of medical dietary needs across the county, but in order to provide for new children with medical allergies and intolerances you will need to complete an on-line application – click HERE to access. Please note that paperwork will need to be completed with Culinera before they will provide your child with a meal.

Allergy Notices

BREAK TIME SNACKS

Please be mindful - we have a number of children in school with touch and airborne allergies.

EYFS, Years 1-2 – the government continue to provide a piece of fruit/vegetable daily.

Years 3 – 6 Please provide your child with a suitable snack for break time, preferably a piece of fruit or vegetable or plain cracker. No chocolate, sweets, crisps, milk products and any items that contain nuts and/or sesame.

BIRTHDAY TREATS

We love Birthdays and watching the children celebrating the milestones they reach, and know how much they love the sweets and cakes that are part of this. However, with the growing numbers of children with allergies and intolerances in the school we need to also ensure all our children and families are safeguarded.

As a school we value the work of Natasha Allergy Research Foundation.

A summary of their research shows that:

“There are now 1 in 4 people living with allergies in the UK. The rise in numbers of children being
diagnosed with allergies is very worrying as are the ever increasing numbers of adults with no allergic history who are suddenly becoming anaphylactic to what they always had considered to be ‘safe foods’” (https://www.narf.org.uk/natashas-allergies).

When school staff give out food, we are able to view and accommodate the allergies for the children, unfortunately this would not be something you as parents would have access to. As a result we can no longer have birthday treats being brought into classrooms to be given out at the end of the day.

We hope that you can understand our need to make sure our community is safe and we sincerely wish you all the happiest of birthday celebrations at home.
