Pupil and Sport Premium

Pupil Premium

In 2011-12 the Government launched its Pupil Premium funding. At Garden Fields School we receive a sum of money every year based on the numbers of pupils in the school who are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Children Looked After (CLA) and armed forces children. From 2012-13, Pupil Premium funding was expanded to include funding for all our pupils who have been eligible for FSM within the last 6 years.

We allocate our funding to initiatives which support those pupils in reaching their full potential, both academically and socially.

Click here for details on how we have used our Pupil Premium funding in 2024-25 and our Strategy Statement plan for 2024-27.

You can find out more about Pupil Premium on the Department for Education website.

Sports Premium

In April 2013 the Government announced new funding to all state maintained schools to assist with the delivery, opportunity and availability of sport and PE. Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.

You can find out more about the Sport Premium on the Department for Education website.

Ambition Education Trust

Our trust is composed of 10 schools situated in Hertfordshire, across St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and Hemel Hempstead. There are five primary and five secondary schools, with over 800 staff delivering high-quality education to 7500 young people from the ages 3 to 18. This is a huge privilege and one we take seriously, to achieve our central aim of Educational Excellence for All.
